Many hetb veterans are playing turf battles, but majority of players only show for seasonals. All classes are currently in "fair" balance. There's a few things here and there that feel or seem OP. 201+ RED MAGES now have a "red touch" similar to black touch, but its not a skill. It's an "optional" weapon affect. Red mages are best from levels 43-300 due to their massive dps aoes. This makes them highly desired party factors. Arguably the best pve class, the redmage falls short in pvp being human (vulnerable to kat claw) and having reduced pvp damage on meteor shower. Their mana saver transformation skill is nice, but has a 50% uptime for class balancing. Aside from that, I'd say it's almost just as u remembered it.
